Chastity Cage Sizing: How to Find Your Fit

Ring size, cage length and shape: how to measure yourself and choose a chastity cage that's comfortable for hours, not minutes.

A good cage is one you forget you're wearing. Getting the size right is most of the battle.

Almost every comfort problem with chastity comes down to fit. A ring that's too tight pinches and restricts blood flow. A ring that's too loose lets you slip out. A cage that's too long pulls and rubs. Here's how to measure properly and pick the right shape.

What you're measuring

  • Ring size: the inside diameter of the base ring that sits behind your testicles. This matters most.
  • Cage length: how long the inside of the cage is, compared with your soft length.
  • Cage shape: rounded, flat or a full-cover plate, which changes how snug and discreet it feels.

Measuring for your ring

Measure when you're soft and relaxed, at a comfortable room temperature. Cold makes everything shrink and a hot bath does the opposite, so avoid both.

Wrap a strip of paper or a soft tape measure around the base of your shaft and behind your testicles, exactly where the ring will sit. Keep it snug but not tight. Mark where it meets and measure the length in millimetres. That's your circumference.

  1. Divide your circumference by 3.14. That's your snug diameter.
  2. Add about 2mm, so the ring stays comfortable when you get hard (morning erections included).
  3. Choose the ring at or just above that number.

For example, 150mm ÷ 3.14 = 47.8mm. Add 2mm and you get about 50mm, so a 50mm ring.

Ring sizes aren't the same on every cage. Our rounded cage sets come with five rings (38, 42, 46, 50 and 52mm), while metal flat cages like the Aegis come in 40, 45, 50 and 55mm. Always check the sizes on the product you're buying. If you're between two rings, go for the larger one: a slightly loose ring can be steadied with a harness, but a tight ring can't be fixed.

First cage? A set with several rings is the safest way to start, because you can try them and find your fit at home.

Checking the fit

Once it's on, check these before you wear it for longer:

  • When soft, you can slide a fingertip between the ring and your skin.
  • When hard, it feels tight but not painful, and you go back to soft on your own.
  • After 30 minutes, everything is still a normal colour and temperature, with no numbness or tingling.
  • It doesn't slide off when you pull gently.

Too tight? Go up a ring size. Slipping out? Try the next ring down, or add a support harness.

Choosing the cage length

The cage should be the same as or slightly shorter than your soft length. Too much room and you'll find yourself sliding out; too little and it will push uncomfortably against the base. If you're between options, shorter is usually the more comfortable and secure choice for longer wear.

Rounded, flat or plate?

Rounded cages are the classic shape and the easiest place to start. Our Black and Pink Rounded Cage Sets come with five rings so you can test your fit.

Flat cages sit closer to the body. They're more discreet under clothes and more secure, but they're snugger, so they suit people who already know their size. The Aegis Flat Chastity Cage comes in 40, 45, 50 and 55mm.

Chastity plates cover everything with a single smooth shell. They're mostly for style and shorter sessions. Have a look at the Chastity Plates collection if you want something that looks as good as it feels.

Signs it doesn't fit

  • Numbness, tingling or skin that feels cold
  • Skin turning dark, purple or blue
  • Swelling around the ring
  • Pinching or rubbing that doesn't settle after a few minutes
  • Being able to pull out easily

The first four mean take it off straight away. The last one usually means the ring is too big or the cage is too long; a support harness can help hold things in place while you find your size.

Quick checklist

  • Measure soft, relaxed and at room temperature, around the base and behind your testicles
  • Circumference ÷ 3.14, plus about 2mm = your ring size
  • Between sizes? Go larger
  • Check the ring sizes on the product you're buying
  • Cage length the same as or slightly shorter than soft
  • Start rounded, move to flat once you know your fit

Every order is shipped in plain, discreet packaging.

Safety: never sleep in a new cage until you've worn it comfortably for several hours awake, through at least one erection. Remove it straight away if you notice numbness, discolouration or swelling, and always keep a spare key somewhere you can reach.
